I used to use a program called "Resource Hacker" to change the tray icon on Winamp to match my Windows theme. It has a feature for you to replace icons in the EXE and should work fine for you. :)

Hi Brian. You're right. I could opt to hide the icon altogether, but that would render it useless. There are a few handy features in the right click menu.

Miranda does Jabber quite well, but I use Gtalk's voice feature a lot. For all other networks, Miranda is my preferred IM client.

Can't you selectively hide icons in Vista like you can in XP? In XP you right-click the clock on the system tray, click Properties, click Hide inactive icons, and click Customize to choose which icons to obscure. XP is dumb and often forgets per-icon settings so I got fed up and now choose to show just them all.

P.s., What's up with running both Miranda and Gtalk?
