WP-Cumulus for Drupal is simply called “Cumulus”

Pratul Kalia emailed me this week that he and Björn Jacob have ported WP-Cumulus to Drupal. Instead of going for a clever name like “Blogumus” or “Joomulus” he opted to simply go with “Cumulus”. How about “Drupumus”, Pratul? ![]()
Anyway, if you’re using Drupal and would like an animated tag cloud, be sure to check out http://drupal.org/project/cumulus.

Hi James. Please read the FAQ at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-cumulus/faq/ and my post at http://www.roytanck.com/2008/08/04/how-to-add-more-characters-to-wp-cumulus/ .
What it comes down to is that, due to limitations in Flash (not in the plugin), a Chinese version is probably impossible. I find myself unable to embed Chinese characters, but there are several people trying to make it work. None have succeeded so far.

Salut Roy!
thanx for a great module! I am on drupal and using this cumulus. The only problem I can’t figure out how to fix is that one random tag goes missing everytime when I enable “Distribute tags evenly on cumulus”
1 tag is always missing… if I refresh the page the missing tag can be there but another one will be gone this time…. If I don’t enable choose to Distribute tags evenly on cumulus all tags are there, but the look isn’t good:(
how do You think this can be fixed?
thanx!

@MaxMontreal: I remember fixing that bug in the WordPress version, so perhaps the Drupal version is using an older version of the SWF. Perhaps Pratul can help you out?

Thanx Roy for a quick response. You rock!:)
yeah I am waiting what Pratul ‘s gonna say about it. But you were right this was a swf file problem. Just to experiment I downloaded swf file from wordpress and put in My drupal cumulus module just changing its name- from tagcloud.swf to cumulus.swf:) and It is working!! all tags are there!
What if I just leave it like this? Any possible side effects with swf file from WP in my drupal cumulus module folder? So far I haven’t noticed any problems. What do you think?
Thanx a lot!
Max

Although I almost no experience with Flash :-S

Hello ,
i aded new term to vocabulary but in a block cumulus isnt new term …whats the problem ?
thanks a lot

@mizux: I’ll assume you’re using the WordPress version. WP-Cumulus displays the 45 most popular tags at any time. It uses a standard WordPress function to get them. This can result in new tags not showing up, but keeps the cloud from becoming overly crowded. The FAQ has tips in increasing the number of tags.
