Hahahah! Hilarious.
Even though it hurt my pride, I must admit that it is indeed a very creative way to use iPhone.

The thing with style is, is that you either have it or you don't. Just buying an iPhone or iPod (both of these devices are bought by many people who don't own a Mac) doesn't make you stylish per se. It's like the Dutch saying: al draagt een aap een gouden ring, het is en blijft een lelijk ding. Maybe people who like to watch and shake boobs around on their iPhone are in fact Windows-users with a Mac-complex? Wouldn't surprise me! :-)

I used to think that way about Mac users as well, and I guess still do. I ended up joining them though after a summer developing on a G5 though. Strictly performance for cost, Macs are outdone by PC. The value as I see it lies in OS X though. It's a very concise operating system, everything from the brevity of popup messages (and lack thereof) to the elimination superfluous OK buttons. There's also the lower level elegance not found in other *nix systems, like how everything is configured via XML files (unlike linux's clusterfuck of syntaxes) and how launchd replaces both cron and BSD-style startup scripts (and launchd daemons are just XML files as well). Most apps judiciously consolidate resources, iChat, Mail and iCal for example share a system-wide contacts database (Addressbook), while Keychain stores passwords for websites, SSH accounts, PGP keys and other secure data sources. Time Machine makes backups trivial. I could replicate most of this functionality in Windows with a hodgepodge of 3rd party apps, and deal with the manual updating and reinstalling that come with every disk wipe, but what if I don't want to? I'd really just like a computer that I can use without tending to.
